It is really interesting, this idea... I wanted to post about it nearly THREE years ago (!!). It is good that some other people think similar.

Well, apart from excellent ideas presented in original Radu's message, here are some additional ones that I think would definitely improve the game.

A special pet - dragon.

Like all other pets (read text below about pets), the dragon pet starts as a baby. However, since this pet is the most powerful one (supposed to be), it feeds with special, dragon food.

Dragon food varies, and depending which one pet owner buys (should be expensive, where the least expensive food can be bought only from NPC), the dragon can have some special, additional points (attack, defence, accuracy, etc).

This pet is special when it come to other things as well.

It needs/can be fed only once a day, with food mentioned above. Once fed it will not be hungry for the rest of the day.

Dragon can evolve into few different directions (in other words makes different kind of special damage) - earth, water, fire, air (elementals).

Every day pet owner can do training, which requires an item of special kind (lets call it "pet trainer" item). Training can be done ONLY ONCE a day, like feeding. When training is done (basically takes few seconds), pet owner can specify where to put the training point which is earned. Training points can go to: attack, defence, accuracy, speed, various types of damages, etc. (up to develeopers).
"Pet trainer" item should be expensive, and available for manufacturing.

Other pets

Other pets should follow the same pattern. They start as baby <something> (Example: "Baby Tiger") and evolve into a big something. All of them can follow the same pattern, or similar, as the dragon explained above.

There is, however a big difference. - Each creature has it's primary, and secondary "nature". Or, maybe the better term would be - it belogs to various elementals. Some creatures are "creatures of fire", others of Earth, some of Water, others of Air, and they make "fire damage", "earth damage", "water damage", or "air damage", depending of their "nature".

Giving certain abilities to the owner

This is yet another, IMHO good, idea... What if developed pets can give some attributes back to the owner. Certain pets should have their natural abilities boosted up. Example: Falcon, Hawk and all birds should have better perception (they see better). So, when pet is around, owner has certain percent of it's abilities (in falcon's case - percent of it's perception). Same with other pets.

Other pet abilities

Pet's should be able to perform some magical actions, at certain levels. Heal (owner or itself), stunn (for 2-3 moves) the opponent, poison oponent, harm oponent, and so on.

It all depends how owner trains it.

Previshe pijemo, previshe pushimo, troshimo suvishe nesmotreno. Premalo se smejemo, prebrzo vozimo, postajemo suvishe besni. Premalo spavamo, previshe smo umorni, premalo chitamo, previshe gledamo televiziju.

Povecjali smo imovinu, a umanjili vrednosti. Previshe prichamo, retko volimo, a chesto mrzimo. Nauchili smo kako da prezhivimo, ali ne i kako da zhivimo. Dodali smo godine zhivotu, ali ne i zhivot godinama.

Preshli smo put do Meseca i nazad, ali nam je teshko da predjemo ulicu i upoznamo prvog komshiju. Osvojili smo spoljni svet, ali nismo unutrashnji. Uchinili smo krupnije, ali ne i bolje stvari.

Prechistili smo vazduh, ali smo otrovali dushe. Razbili smo atom, ali ne i svoje predrasude. Pishemo vishe, ali uchimo manje. Planiramo vishe, ali ostvarujemo manje. Nauchili smo da zhurimo, ne i da chekamo.

Stvorili smo kompjutere koji chuvaju vishe podataka i stvaraju vishe kopija nego ikad, ali sve manje i manje komuniciramo.

Ovo je doba brze hrane i sporog varenja; krupnih ljudi, a sitnih dusha; dubokih dzepova i plitkih veza.

Ovo su vremena dvostrukih prihoda, a cheshcjih razvoda; luksuznih kucja i razorenog doma. Ovo su dani brzih putovanja, pelena za jednokratnu upotrebu, jeftinog morala i tableta koje mogu da razvesele ili da umire, a mnoge od njih i da ubiju.

Ovo je vreme kad je mnogo toga u izlogu, a malo u radnji; vreme kad nam tehnologija donosi ovaj tekst, a vi mozhete da se zamislite nad njim ili da ga obrishete...

Ne zaboravite: podelite svoje vreme s onima koje volite, jer oni necje biti zauvek tu. Recite neshto lepo onome ko vas gleda sa strahoposhtovanjem, jer cje taj mali chovek porasti i oticji od vas. Zagrlite chvrsto osobu pored sebe, jer to je jedino blago koje mozhete dati od srca, a ne koshta vas nishta. Ne zaboravite da kazhete "volim te" partneru i osobama koje su vam drage, a najvazhnije od svega je da te rechi budu iskrene. Poljubac i zagrljaj mogu da ublazhe bol kada dolaze iz dubine dushe. Ne zaboravite da se drzhite za ruke i sachuvate secjanje za trenutak kada taj neko vishe ne bude pored vas. Sachuvajte vreme za ljubav, sachuvajte vreme za razgovor, sachuvajte vreme za sve dragocene misli...

Today I have checked the official website of my favorite metal bend of all times - TestAmenT and simply could not believe my eyes when in news section I read: "The great revenge: TESTAMENT'S upcoming release entitled "THE FORMATION OF DAMNATION" is being recorded as we speak! They are currently recording the drums tracks with Andy Sneap at Fantasy Studios, in Berkeley, California." This is wonderfull news!

/20061228/ OK folks, I have just uploaded my latest install-dmd BASH script which will help You install DMD (DigitalMars D compiler) on Your GNU/Linux box.

Here is what You should do (as root, for now, I will soon ad ability to install DMD in $HOME):

cd /tmp
wget http://dejan.lekic.googlepages.com/install-dmd
chmod 755 install-dmd
wget http://ftp.digitalmars.com/dmd.178.zip
./install-dmd 178

Please note that number '178' in example above is the same as number in DMD zip package-file.

Current version of install-dmd, version 0.7 cannot obviously download zip package automaticaly. Version 1.0 will do this, and also be able to install DMD in $HOME, which is very important for those D programmers who do not have root access. If You have any suggestions/patches/critics please send them via e-mail.

Recently I have noted small bug related to bones. I "armed" myself with a bone, and than decided to put it back to inventory, and was confused by seeing bones took TWO slots in my inventory! Screenshot is following: bones-bug.jpg .

Okej,  Factor ponovo aktivno radi na Yugo mapi. Evo kako ista izgleda za sada. Danas smo razgovarali o jednoj izvrsnoj ideji, no da bi je ostvarili moracemo da konsultujemo Radu-a, jer ne znamo da li je stvar legalna ili ne. (SLIKA)

OK folks, I have finished all classes required for journal/news section of this website. The only (planned) thing left is to compose list of all unique keywords and use this set to set the value of page''s keywords section (META tag inside xHTML).

Hello! Finally I had time to re-design my web-site. - The result is, as You can see, greenish and (SQLITE/XHTML/PHP/AJAX)-based. Many planned things are not yet done, but I hope they'll be finished very soon.
